Stone Coated Steel

Steel panels finished with a bonded stone granule surface. The texture of a traditional roof over a steel substrate.

Diagram of a stone coated steel panel: stepped tile courses in cross section, and the layer stack of ceramic coated stone granules, acrylic bond coat, steel substrate and underside coating
How a stone coated panel is built: steel underneath, an acrylic bond coat, then ceramic coated stone granules on the weather surface. Stepped courses lap the one below. We have not photographed a stone coated install of our own yet, so this is a drawing rather than a job photo. Ask and we will bring a physical sample out.
