What it is
Cold-formed steel siding in a board and batten profile. Concealed fastener, vertical run, cut to length in our shop and installed by our own crews. Because it is steel, it does not soak up water like fiber cement, cannot warp like wood, and does not crack like vinyl in a Michiana winter.

Vinyl gets brittle in the cold and warps in the heat. Fiber cement soaks water at the cut edge and swells. Steel does neither. The Sherwin-Williams finish is warranted for 40 years against chalk and fade.

The reason to run Battenlok instead of another lap panel is the profile. Vertical board and batten resets the look of the house. Full Sherwin-Williams palette, matched to the roof and the trim.

Same shop that rolls our roof panels forms the siding, and the same crew that puts the roof on runs the wall. One 10-year workmanship warranty covers the whole envelope. No coordination between two contractors.
